When was the last time you let your inner child come out and play? When was the last time you did something so fun and silly that you felt like you were 10 again? Probably not for a while right? I hear ya, it’s been a while for me too!
As I sat and watched my daughter open her birthday presents last weekend and witnessed the surprise and joy, I was in awe of how simple this age was. I thought to myself then, “age four, what bliss, where a $6.99 Barbie doll was like winning the lottery”. She was enthralled with everything; the Barbie doll house, furniture and of course the Barbie pool to go with it (now come on, summer’s coming and Barbie needs to spend her hours soaking in the sun). My point being at that moment she would have been happy with just that one $6.99 Barbie Doll. Then something happens….
I had to share with you an experience that recently happened to me. I was attending my son’s parent/teacher night at his high school a week ago. Okay, so not the best feedback I was hoping for, but hey that’s a whole other story. Anyways, I was chatting with one of his teachers and the subject of occupations came up. I explained that I was a VA and a College Instructor.
Woo Hoo, Spring is here…no it’s really here! The birds are chirping, the buds are turning green on the tree in the backyard, and of course the “gifts” my wonderful dogs have left me over the winter session are all over the back lawn… Ewww…I know gross right? But if I’m writing a blog about Spring time, dog poop has to be mentioned at least once. Dog poop, spring time…part of the reason why I know spring is definitely here.
Yep, well I’m pretty sure I have it. The dreaded ten finger mebegebes! What? You’ve never heard of the ten finger mebegebes? Where have you been hiding?
What exactly is our authentic self? A good question, with a fairly simple answer! It’s about being you, showing up in this world as the true person who you ARE, oppose to the person the world has “told” you be.
