I have to say I am an absolute freak when it comes to clutter and with a three year old, you can imagine how difficult this is for me. I’m one of those people who love space and hate the thought of filling that space with unnecessary clutter. I would be happy with a TV, a comfy couch and nothing but open spaces.
I am thrilled to have my dear friend Mary-Lou Ashton, Virtual Assistant, Coach, Trainer and all around awesome person contribute her wonderful words of wisdom to my blog this week. She has written a fantastic 2-part article on Owning Your Value as a VA. A must read for any Virtual Assistant.
Owning Your Value as a VA – Part I
For many VA’s, especially those starting out, it can be difficult to own and honour the value we bring. While we may know and understand it, owning it is a whole different story. So how can you really own the value you bring to a client?
I’m back from a wonderful, relaxing vacation and I’m sure no surprise to any of you I’m in the notorious “email hell”. One week’s vacation equates to over 1000 emails, can you believe that? Mind you most of it can be handled by the quick hit of the delete button and trust me that delete button is working overtime.
I’ve been working on my full-day Multi-VA workshop which I will be presenting at the Forum on Virtual Assistance on June 4th (If you haven’t yet signed up for the conference, get to it, it’s awesome!). I’ve been piecing together all of the topics that I find to be the most challenging for the Multi-VA Owner.
One of the topics on my list is delegating and learning how to let go. This can be huge challenge for some Multi-VA owners, especially those who are just beginning to transitioning into this business model. Although a topic I’ll be covering specific to Multi-VA owners at the workshop, this topic is one that can resonate with many regardless of what profession you are in.
Last week I posed the question “What makes you smile?” on twitter (yes, I’m actually warming up to twitter these days), and the response I received from others was awesome.
- My husband
- Chocolate
- Children’s giggles
- Family
- Friends
- Completing a project
I almost didn’t write this post, in fact I almost didn’t write any post for this week. Between the hustle and bustle of the Easter holidays and spending most of my day in the hospital last Thursday in awful pain, the culprit – a kidney stone…ouch!! The bottom line was I didn’t have much energy or brain power to really think about writing.
But low and behold, here I am, I rallied up that energy from somewhere to ensure I had something to post this week.
