How many of you have thought about what you would do if you won the lottery?  If all of a sudden you hit a win fall and had millions of dollars at your disposal.    Just recently we had a huge lottery, a 45 million dollar lottery.  I’m not a lottery player at all, but the thought of 45 million dollars, I’m afraid was too tempting to resist.  I bought my $10.00 ticket stuck it on the fridge with a magnet and each time I walked past it…I would ask myself “what would you really do if you won that?”

Hmm…so what would you do?

So, have you started your list of goals for 2009 yet?  I’ve been working on mine for the past week or so trying to figure out what the heck I need to tackle first.  I find it a little more challenging this year than in past years.  I’m not quite sure why, it’s not like I’ve accomplished everything I’ve set my sights on.

There’s a lot I would like to achieve this year, possibly write another book or two, take a few classes in something artsy, learn how to knit… okay, maybe not this last one, as I’ve tried and given up more than once.  I guess it’s not my “cup of tea”.  I do however have the need for creativity in my life.

Welcome to 2009!  Wow, can you believe it….2009.   I remember when I was much, much, much younger than I am now and had visions of what it would be like in the “future”.  In 2009 I figured we would all be driving flying cars and life would be pretty much like the “Jetsons.”   Well, not quite is it?

But that’s okay…no flying cars but I think 2009 is going to be a fantastic year anyways!

If you’re a regular reader of my blog, then you’ve probably figured out that I don’t take myself too seriously all the time.  Humour plays a pretty big role in my life and I am instinctively drawn to those people who share the same outlook.

I think life’s way too short to be “stuck up”, “too stiff” or so hung up on being professional all the time that you lose sight of what it’s like to have fun every now and then.

I’m back from my week in Montreal where I attended the ICF conference.  I have to say, I pulled off the Outdoor look pretty good and I managed to step outside of my reclusiveness and enjoyed myself immensely.

It was a fantastic conference where I had the opportunity to meet up with people who I haven’t seen in years, have a face to face catch up and remember what it’s like to work in a non-virtual environment.   I realized very soon into the conference that I actually missed this face to face contact with my colleagues and friends.  Mind you, I sure don’t miss the early morning, wardrobe decisions, make up applications and fighting with those darn panty hose (which by the way I managed to put on without putting my nail through…a pretty big accomplishment on my end).  Yet, it was great to shake hands, give hugs and have conversations without a phone stuck to my ear.  I miss the interaction that only an in-person event can provide.
