My second letter of gratitude is for an individual who is such a huge part of my professional and personal life. Without her, I’m not sure I would be the person I am today.
Dear Laura,
I believe in life we are “meant” to meet certain people. I truly believe in this. What’s funny is as I was preparing to write this letter to you, I received a lovely email and this is what it said:
“God doesn’t give you the people you want, He gives you the people you NEED: To help you, to hurt you, to leave you, to love you and to make you into the person you were meant to be. “
You my dear, are one of those individuals. When we first met, it was you who had found me, looking to venture into the world of working virtually. However I believe this wasn’t by mere chance, you were brought to me because at that point in time, I needed you, not the other way around. You were what I needed at that moment in time to give me the space to explore other passions within me, writing and teaching. Two of my greatest loves and without you I would have never, ever known they were there waiting to be discovered. For this I say THANK YOU!
You are not only my right hand in business, you are my partner, sharing with me the dreams and yes, disappointments that come along with being a business owner. You have gone through it all with me the good and the bad and have not once bolted for the door. And I might add have kept me from bolting for the door on a number of occasions. You of all people know how difficult it is for me to “let go”, for me to give up some control of something I love so much, but you made it easy. I know that I can walk away from this business tomorrow and it would be perfectly fine, because you are there. Your loyalty to me has truly been a blessing to me. You were and are the partner I needed to make this business a success and make my dreams come true. THANK YOU!
Six years you have been with me building this business and although without you I’m sure I would not have made it this far, you have given me something even more important. Your friendship! You are one of those “true” friends that I can count on a few fingers that I can and do share just about everything with. You have seen me at my very best and at my very worst and even then stuck by me. You have shown unconditional support, friendship and loyalty. I am most thankful for this! THANK YOU!
I believe everyone has a secret to their success, their determination, their passion, their ability to see the big picture. In my case my secret to success is you!
Thank you for being the person that I NEED.
Love you lots,
Michelle

I too believe we are meant to meet certain people in our lives. When I contacted you about joining the MJVA team in 2002 (yes it’s been that long!) I never expected to gain such a fulfilling professional relationship and more importantly, our friendship. So thank you; for your personal and professional support, your kindness, your generosity, for listening to me vent, mentoring me when needed, giving me freedom and trust, and for pushing me outside of my comfort zone. I am a better person because of it and so thank YOU for being the person I NEED.
