How is your week going?  Well, I have to say my week has been a little “chaotic” to say the least.  Have you ever had one of those weeks where you wish you could simply “rewind” and start all over again?

Well for me, this is that week.  Can I share it with you?

It actually started last Friday; I should have known what kind of weekend I was going to have just by how Friday started and ended.   It started with two sick kids, coughing and sneezing, it ended with an intense pain in my lower jaw.  Needless to say, the pain in my jaw was continuous throughout the weekend; Advil was my best friend, until it stopped working late Sunday evening.

My three year old daughter, made it known to everyone how awful she felt.  She’s a pretty cute kid, but boy, when she gets sick,  she can literally levitate her bed and spin her head completely around.  Okay obviously not literally, but she can definitely give that girl from the exorcist a run for her money.

While all of this is going on, I really should have know better….really, really should have known better than to agree to give my husband a buzz cut.  I have been doing this for him for 14 years, a little secret about me is I was actually trained as a hair stylist “eons” ago.

Anyways, the buzz cut started just like any other buzz cut, I was just finishing it up, giving it the “once over” and doesn’t the guard fall of.  I couldn’t stop in time, and “bzzzzzz”  my husband has a 2 inch X 3 inch bald spot on the top of his head.  AHHH!!!   Okay you can probably guess, I was absolutely mortified, I was crying and laughing at the same time.  There was no way I could fix this….I had to shave him completely bald.  So, by the end of the weekend, I have two sick kids that are completely miserable and ensuring that since they are miserable everyone around them had to miserable as well, a pain so terrible in my jaw that I was seriously considering grabbing a pair of pliers and pulling that tooth out just to get some relief and a BALD husband. How can it possibly get any worse?

Well, it does….I call my dentist on Monday to get in for an emergency visit, he sends me to a specialist as it turns out I will need root canal…oh  joy oh bliss, can you just shoot me now and get it over with. LOL!

Tuesday, I have my appointment, sure enough root canal is the procedure, and it needs to be done right then and there, no consult, no assessment, it has to happen.   Two hours later, my mouth is finally feeling some relief….I on the other hand got the shock of my life….the bill!!!  $1400.00 for root canal for one…let me say it again…for ONE tooth!!  Well, I was trying to figure out, how the heck I can give that tooth back to them—are you serious?  $1400.00 for a tooth?  I had to look in the closest mirror to see if it was gold plated, I mean it must be for that amount of money.

So needless to say, now I have two sick, miserable kids, a tooth worth $1400.00 and yes, a husband who is still BALD.  Wooo Hooo!   Is it Friday yet?  Because I can’t wait to see what next week has in store for me!

Have a fabulous week everyone!

    Michelle,

You really did have a sucky week; yuck. I feel bad for you. So … hair will grow back, and the kids will get through it. Your wallet (what was in it) isn’t going to refill on its own. Yikes.

But believe it or not, I can top (easily) what you spent on one tooth! Long story, short version: 3 distinct procedures, over time, and approx. $3200. Definitely my favourite tooth now :) Ask me offline if you want to hear more.

In the meantime, as a very very busy woman, I’m hoping this week has no surprises that are not pleasant :)

I’ve been wanting Gary to shave his head bald for a while. Maybe that’s what I need to do…oopps the guard fell off! LOL

Root canals are not fun but man have they gone up in price, last one I had was half that!

I hope you and the rest of the household are on the upswing my friend! :-)
